Telephone calls can be made from any phone booth or public telephone. They work with coins or phone cards that can be bought at tobacconists at prices starting from 1000ptas.

Calls made between 10:00 PM and 8:00 AM, Saturdays after 2:00 PM and Sundays are subject to a reduced rate of 30 to 50% off.

To call within Spain, you only need to dial the prefix of the province to which you are calling that starts with 9 (even if the number is inside the same province). For international calls, you must dial 00, followed by the country code, the regional code and the number you are calling.

For long phone calls, it is advisable to go to a telephone locutorio, a shop equipped with enclosed phone booths. There are three of these:

Gran Vía, 30
Paseo de Recoletos, 41
Palacio de Comunicaciones, Plaza de Cibeles

The opening hours of these locutorios are from 8 AM to 12 midnight.

A fax can be sent from the hotel fax service or from the many photocopy shops that offer a fax service.

TELEFAX: 91 521 65 00
