As
a general rule, opening hours in Madrid are from 9 or 10 in the
morning to 2 in the afternoon and again in the evening from 5:00
or 5:30 PM to 8:00 or 9:00 PM. In the summer, however, some shops
extend their hours to 10:00 PM. There are establishments that do
not close at mid-day, such as department stores and shops run by
multinationals. Most shops, especially in the city center, are open
the aforementioned hours Monday through Saturday, and is allowed
to open one Sunday per month.
Some
businesses, such as VIP's and BOB's, remain open until 3 in the
morning.
